American idol Sponsorships

The media helps the three mane American Idol sponsors . Being an American Idol sponsors allows Ford, Coke and AT&T to air commercials during the show, post online content about the show and their sponsorship and run off-air co-branded marketing programs. While most of the marketing plans related to the American Idol sponsorships will remain similar to prior seasons.

Fans of the classic soft drink Coca-Cola may be found to be more in tuned with American idol. Coca-Cola is one of the shows biggest sponsors, and logos could be seen everywhere during the TV show. There are often Coco-Cola commercials throughout the show and in between breaks. There biggest advertisement is at the judge panel, each judge has their very own Coca-Cola cup. It is beneficial to Coca-Cola for each judge to have a cup because the panel takes up a lot of camera time. When people watch the show, it isn’t unusual that the camera focuses on the judges taking sips out of their Coke cups. In fact, it is implying that viewers should go out and buy Coke, because the judges from American Idol are drinking it.

Another very large sponsor of the TV show is the American Made Ford Automobile. Ford has stated it will promote its Ford Escape Hybrid, Ford Edge crossover vehicle and its new Sync voice-activated systems more this season, and the top two finalists will receive Ford hybrids rather than Ford Mustangs as they have in prior seasons. It’s great to see a focus on a more eco-friendly vehicle. There are Ford Commercials through out the TV show as often as Coke. One of the biggest advertisements, involve the top 12 contestants in a Ford music video. These videos are shown before every elimination night. People who enjoy Ford could be influenced by the sponsorship with American Idol to continue watching the show, and possibly influence them to buy a Ford.

The last big sponsorship with American Idol is AT&T. This company is once again the Official Wireless Sponsor of American Idol. It is committed to giving fans many ways to connect with the show through their mobile phone. Confirming reports about how the IPhone will be American Idol's official handset this year, AT&T will again serve as the wireless sponsor of the show. The show will again allow viewers to vote via text messaging for their favorite contestants; many users did just that last year, so this is good for AT&T.
