Re-cap on American Idol- and your contestants ll
Bad News- my favorite contestant on American Idol has been voted off with out a save. Didi Benami, the tragedy filled young singer, placed as a 'singer-songwriter', favors were not in her odds. It is ironic that she went home the week she performed her most tragic piece, "what Becomes of the Broken Heartache". Before the audition, she rehearsed it to 'long loved favorite R&B singer', Usher. When she was done singing, she looked at Usher, put her hands over her face and started to cry. She never revealed why this song meant so much to her, only that it was sung for someone. At least she made it into the top eight, and will be going on tour! Now that Didi is gone I now have to pick a new favorite, and I think it would have to be Siobhan Magnus. Siobhan is extremely different in the way she portrays her personality. Her singing is different and mysterious. She has a wide range and is known for hitting her "high note" at the end of each song. For the guys, i would have to choose "Big Mike", or Michael Lynche. He has not only had the most touching performance, with "This Woman's Work", but used this song when singing for his life. Two weeks ago, Michael was put into the bottom three, and unfortunately had the lowest amount of votes. When he was asked to sign for his life, he sang this song with more passion and enthusiasm than the first. You can see his wife utterly emotional. When this happened people in the audience, at home watching, the judges, and myself were completely moved by his performance. You could even see and hear the crowd persuading the judges to save him by there cheers. When it was time for Simon to give Big Mike the news, he said "there is only one save in this competition, and we have made our decision, if this is any comfort, and it is unanimous, we are going to see you next week". The crowd goes wild for Michael, and you can see he is so humbled to be granted a second chanced and that they used there one save of the season on him. What i liked and learned from watching this as well as other at home, is seeing how this show can change the life of an average everyday guy with a wife and new born baby girl. this one event that has taken place has given Michael the title, of the man they saved on season 9 of American Idol. The next morning driving to class it was all over the news on z100 and in the papers, and was a huge hit with the media. Congratulations to Michael Lynche!!
