For the last two weeks, people have been having discussions about a new law passed by the state of Arizona. it requires people to be searched randomly by police to prove that they are a U.S citizen and that they didn't come to the United States illegally. This new law is very controversial, there are people saying that it is wrong and they're racially profiling people, and others say that it is the right thing to do. 60% of all Americans support the new law in Arizona. i feel that this is the right thing to do because we are a nation of immigrants, and a nation of laws, and one of the laws is the to come to the United States legally. For hundreds of years immigrants from all over the world are coming to the United States illegally, and the people from Mexico should be coming here legally, like our ancestors did. People that are against this law don't understand that the tax payers money is going towards these legal immigrants, if they get arrested and go into prison, the tax payer has to pay for it. If they get hurt and go to a hospital the tax payer has to pay for it. The way the United States is right now, the average person cannot afford to keep paying for illegal immigrants. Our prisons are also becoming very overcrowded with illegal immigrants. This is because a small percentage of illegal immigrants are committing violent crimes in the United States. I support immigration, but i support it the legal way. Media should make this more known then it is so people understand whats going on.
